Fiestas Patrias

Wednesday, 25 September 2024 This year, I had an unforgettable Fiestas Patrias celebration in Algarrobo with my parents, my in-laws, my boyfriend, and his brother. We stayed at my grandparents' house, a cozy wooden home that holds so much charm and history. Even though my grandparents didn’t build it themselves, the house has been part of my family for years, and its warm, rustic vibe made it the perfect setting for this special holiday. The celebration started with a classic asado . We all gathered in the backyard, grilling delicious empanadas , anticuchos , and choripanes . The aroma of the barbecue mixed with the cool coastal breeze was unforgettable. During the day, we walked along the beach, skipping stones and taking photos of the beautiful ocean views. Back at the house, we played board games as a family, which turned into lively competitions filled with laughter and jokes. At night, the real excitement began as we headed to the fondas . The festive atmosphere was electric,...

My Semester So Far...

Friday, 18 October 2024 This semester has been a combination of challenges and achievements that have significantly contributed to my academic and personal development. Among the subjects I have enjoyed the most are Taller and Cultura de la Arquitectura . In Taller , I appreciate the opportunity to transform creative ideas into concrete projects, allowing me to apply the knowledge I have acquired in a practical way. On the other hand, Cultura de la Arquitectura has been an enriching experience as it provides me with a deeper understanding of the historical and cultural foundations of the discipline. Additionally, being consistently recognized for my outstanding analyses in this subject has been an important incentive to maintain my commitment and the quality of my work. In contrast, Sostenibilidad Urbana has not met my expectations. While I acknowledge the importance of the subject, I feel that the way it is approached fails to capture my interest effectively. This has made it diffi...

FINAL POST

What you most enjoyed writing about, and why? I truly enjoyed writing about the two photos in my blog, "2 Photos of Moments in Life." The first photo, taken in 2009 when I was five years old, captured a precious moment at my great-grandmother’s house. I loved describing the atmosphere of the house, the lavender-colored plume flowers in the garden, and my father's artistic talent. Writing about that memory made me reflect on how much that house meant to me, as well as the importance of family connections. The second photo, taken in 2022 with my high school friends, was also a highlight. It was my first time traveling without my parents, and I got to share the joy of exploring a new place with close friends. Writing about those memories allowed me to relive the fun and freedom of that trip, which was one of the best vacations I've ever had. Both photos brought back beautiful memories, and writing about them felt like a way of preserving those moments forever. What you l...

Something Special

Something special I have is a stuffed animal that my boyfriend gave me. It is a very soft white tiger plush, and it smells amazing. My boyfriend gave it to me without planning to (it wa a spontaneous gesture). his mom had bought several stuffed animals to use as prizes in a raffle, and one of them happened to be "goku", the white tiger. We both fell in love with it at the first sight, so we decided to keep it. We named goku after the main character of Dragon Ball, one of our favorite series. Goku has become more than just a plush toy to me; it’s like a source of comfort and emotional support. Whenever I feel anxious or stressed, whether it’s because of an upcoming test, a bad grade, or just the pressures of daily life, I hug Goku, and it immediately helps calm me down. At night, when my anxiety is often at its worst, having Goku close by makes a huge difference. Holding it tightly allows me to relax and fall asleep peacefully, no matter how overwhelming the day has been. It’s...

2 Photos of moments in life

This photo is from 2009, when I was about 5 years old. My dad took it at my maternal great-grandmother's house. She was an English teacher and even became a school principal. My great-grandmother had a huge house with a corridor that led to an inner garden full of plume flowers, which stand out in the background of the photo with their lavender color.  My father took the picture to draw me later; he draws exceptionally well and has an incredible talent. I don’t have a photograph of the drawing, but I can describe it: it’s done in gray tones, drawn freehand with graphite, capturing every detail of me and the background.  Currently, my great-grandmother's house belongs to another family, but I still pass by it often since my grandmother’s house is connected to it through a door.   Here I am with my high school friend in Papudo. We went there for our fourth year trip in December 2022, at that time, I had already turned 18. It was the first time I traveled without my p...

An Ideal Job (plus a song)

Imagen
Who is it by? The song "Tarde" is by Ricardo Arjona. What genre is it? It's a ballad that blends pop and Latin music. When did you first hear it? I first heard it on the car radio of my dad while driving to my grandparents' house. Why do you like it? I like it because it reflects nostalgia and the complexity of human relationships, and Arjona's way of describing the passage of time and loss is poignant. Mention anything else you consider important or interesting. It's interesting how Arjona has maintained his unique style throughout his career while exploring different themes and sounds. "Tarde" stands out for its sincerity and the emotional connection it establishes with the listener.
